Transmit Lexus and Toyota ECM data to smartphone and Windows apps
Lexus and Toyota EFI vehicles 1995 and earlier have a Data Link Connector(DLC) that can be used for troubleshooting diagnostics.
The exact functionality depends on the year, model and engine.
Earliest vehicles don't have a diagnostics connector.
The next generation of vehicles have a diagnostics connector that provides visibility to the following.
Data Link Connector voltages
- Oxygen Sensors
- Battery
- Fuel Pump
- VF1 & VF2 Target Air Fuel Mixtures
In 1990, Lexus and Toyota started phasing in an OBD1 data stream to assist their mechanics with diagnostics. Sensors, connectors, wiring and the ECM's interpretation of the measurement can all be validated by looking at a screen. Without removing any components or the risk of damaging anything in the process. It can be used while driving the vehicle to troubleshoot intermittent problems while they occur.
OBD1 Data Stream Values
- Coolant Temperature
- Throttle Position
- Air Measurement (MAF, MAP, VAF)
- Idle Air Control
- Injector Pulse
- Ignition Timing
- Engine Speed
- Vehicle Speed
- Target Air Fuel Mixture
OBD1 Data Stream Flags
- Warm Up mode
- Cold Start mode
- Idle Switch state
- Acceleration Enrichment mode
- Current Air Fuel Mixture
- Closed/Open Loop mode
- Switch states
